Earl Ferguson Construction built our cottage over the winter of 2000. The project started in October 2009 when our old cottage was torn down and we were in – as promised – by the following 24 May long weekend.

We had experience working with Bill and his dad, Earl, previously because they had done some extensive renovations at our first cottage. So the fact that they were our first, and only, choice to build our new cottage is testament to the fact that we had complete confidence in Earl Ferguson Construction and in the quality of their work.

Building our cottage with Bill Ferguson was a wonderful experience. In fact, I wish we could do it again! And, if we did, we wouldn’t consider another builder.

Bill has a fantastic crew of people, most of whom have been with the company for years. They take real pride in their work, and the result is a level of craftsmanship that will satisfy the fussiest of customers – I’m one of them!

Two big issues in building a cottage are budget and follow up service. Bill came in on budget (except for changes that we made as the building progressed – but these were remarkably few). Most important, especially in Muskoka where it can be difficult to get small things fixed, we have always been able to rely on Bill to get any problems dealt with because he has such an extremely strong relationship with the construction industry in the area. Our cottage is now 10 years old and, apart from on-going basic maintenance issues like painting/ staining, we have not had any significant problems with the construction. Bill knows Muskoka and how to build there!
